Help Los Cerros Boosters achieve for FREE!

Today I want to tell you how to financially help Los Cerros for FREE but I first want to say thank you again to everyone who has donated to Boosters, classrooms, and activities. I know these are tight financial times and donations mean sacrifice on your part.

Recently in Panther Press I wrote about the importance of regular school attendance. We receive a mere $28.85 per child per day from the state of California. While losing that amount may appear insignificant those funds are our primary source of income and we need every bit of them. Each holiday season, and some Fridays, we lose significant revenue because families choose to extend vacation time. On a recent Friday we had 45 students absent at a cost of $1300 in lost revenue. I am asking you to consider using only the allocated vacation days and help support our financial viability.

Two additional, FREE, methods of supporting Los Cerros are through our EScrip and Employee Matching programs. I signed up for Escrip last year and it was quick and painless and as a result each time I shop I know I'm supporting our school. The link is www.escrip.com and I promise it only takes a few minutes but yields thousands of dollars for us.

Finally, if you'd like to know whether your company offers Employee Matching Funds just send your company name to Leah Brecke at leahbrecke@yahoo.com and she will do all of the research for you. Employee Matching generated thousands of dollars last year and can do so again.

So there you have three FREE ways to support our school and community. For those able to contribute monetarily our Boosters group is seeking more contributions to make up for this years $20,000 deficit. Some of you will receive a direct appeal soon and I ask that you consider donating. We accept, and can use, any amount. This year we are going for a 100% parent participation rate and you can help make that a reality.

I am sorry we live in a world that necessitates these on-going financial appeals and so we offer both free and monetary methods of support.
