Michael Ha has been Caught Being Good!
Please stop by the office for your award.  Who will be caught next week?

San Ramon Rotary has awarded Donnine Davis one of their
2007-2008 Educator of the Year honors.  Donnine is our new librarian and we are honored to have her work with us at Los Cerros.  Congrats Donnine!

From the Principal

It's that time of year - pumpkin bread season. Thanks to the many bakers in our community who are dropping off dozens of loaves to be included as part of Basket Brigade. The grocery store shelves are sure to be empty soon of canned pumpkin. The basket assembly begins on Wednesday and delivery on Friday.  Again, I can't thank our project coordinators, Amy Gee and JoAnn Hattum enough for their extraordinary efforts. I continue to be so impressed by the energy and time that many of you pour into our school. We couldn't do it all without you.

I know that many of you are excited about the prospect of our Thanksgiving Break next week. Although the district homework policy doesn't encourage assigning homework over school breaks it may be a good opportunity for your student to catch up on their schoolwork or to read a book for fun so they return on top of their academic game. Whatever you and your family do I wish you a safe and enjoyable holiday and we'll be here when you return.

CJSF NEWS
Permission slips, parents¹ signatures and checks for the Embarcadero Field Trip are due in Room 1 by 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 20th.  No late forms will be accepted for this trip since we must give a total to the bus company and to the ice skate rink by Friday.  Please turn in the paperwork on time if you intend to attend this function.  CJSF students are expected to be responsible and reliable!

HEALTH CHALLENGE EXAM

Thank you to everyone who got your books for the Health Challenge Exam.  The long break is a great time to get lots of studying done.  A good way to remember the information is to write the vocabulary words down in a spiral notebook and refer to the words for studying.  If you have any questions about the upcoming test on December 10th at 3:10 p.m. please contact Cheryl Williamson at 552-5620.

Applications for Independent Study Physical Education
Students participating in district approved athletic programs, competing as state/nationally ranked or pre-Olympic/pre-professional advanced level athletes, 400 minutes or more every ten school days may apply for ISPE through the District's Director of Instruction, Student Services. An application can be picked up in the Los Cerros main office. Student athletes that are already participating in ISPE and had approval for the year do not have to reapply for the second semester.
