8th GRADE PROMOTION PARTY – Saturday, June 6th, 2009
23 days to wait until you get to party in Wonderland...
... which means, only 22 days to GET YOUR PICTURE TO THE OFFICE so it can be put up on the photo wall. C’mon, this is easy!  All we need is one photo, 4” x 6” or 5” x 7” in size, with the student’s name on the back. It’s not a baby shot or something hard to find; just a recent picture you like. Don’t have one? Go take one right now and bring it to the office tomorrow morning! You’ll feel better knowing it’s done and you aren’t going to be left out on party night.

While you’re about it, why not COMPLETE THE PARTY PERMISSION SLIP that was included with your invitation and take that to the office too? The slips are due on or before 5/20. If you haven’t yet picked up your invitation, stop by the office soon and collect it so you can get that permission slip returned in time (or you won’t be allowed to come on June 6th).

Finally, though we hate to think about after the party already, we would love to borrow some FREE-STANDING LIGHTS (like the ones used at work sites!) to help us see what we’re doing as we tidy and clean up that night! If you can help us out, please contact Lynelle at dorisboo@aol.com.

Many thanks.

Library News

Orders and offers to buy books for the library have been coming in. Thank you! Remember a library book makes a great gift for teachers or promoting students. Two lists of books needed for our library are posted on our library web site http://library.lcms.srvusd.k12.ca.us. I update these links as things are purchased or more needs are identified. Contact Mrs. Davis at ddavis@srvusd.net if you have questions.

Also, as we wind down the school year, be aware that our student file server and schoolloop will be reformatted over the summer. Therefore, students wishing to keep an electronic portfolio will need to move their files to a home computer or portable device.
There are several methods they can use to do this: Put them in their schoolloop locker - these will need to but taken out of the locker before summer as well, or put them on a USB drive, or bring a disc to school to save their files on.
Be aware that personal e-mail does not always work for students to use here at school, so we do not recommend that students use personal e-mail to move files. Mrs. Davis will have a limited supply of discs available to students for 50 cents each. Mrs. Lawton in the lab or Mrs. Davis can help students move their files.
